Mr. Hari Mohan Gupta

It is with great pleasure and optimism that I welcome you to the AUAP Global Citizenship Congress 2025, to be held on November 12–13, 2025, at the Amari Watergate Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.

Under the compelling theme, “Sustainability Rankings: Engineering a Brighter Future Through Inventive Solutions & Creative Global Citizenship,” this Congress aims to bring together academic leaders, policymakers, innovators, and global citizens to engage in meaningful dialogue and exchange ideas that will shape the trajectory of sustainable development in higher education and beyond.

This Congress will explore four transformative pillars:

  • Solution Inventiveness – Crafting innovative and actionable responses to complex global problems
  • Communities as Catalysts for Change – Harnessing the power of local voices and grassroots action
  • Transformative Systems – Reimagining our institutions to be more equitable, sustainable, and future-ready
  • Future Resilience – Equipping societies to adapt, thrive, and lead in the face of uncertainty.

Universities in Asia and the Pacific are uniquely positioned to lead this global transformation. Rooted in cultural diversity, innovation, and a youthful demographic, the region’s institutions are becoming crucibles of forward-thinking research, grassroots engagement, and policy innovation. Through transnational collaborations, interdisciplinary education, and community-driven impact, our universities are helping reimagine what sustainability means in both local and global contexts.

As the Chancellor of Jagran Lakecity University, India, I am proud to share that sustainability has emerged as one of our institution’s core focus areas. From embedding sustainability principles into our academic offerings to engaging with communities on real-world challenges, we remain deeply committed to nurturing socially conscious and globally responsible graduates.

I am proud that this initiative is being co-hosted by Panpacific University (Philippines), MIDAS (The Master’s Institute Development Academic and Seminary), and Siam University (Thailand)—institutions that share AUAP’s unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability.

I warmly invite you to save the dates and be part of this vital conversation as we work together to engineer a brighter, more sustainable future through collective vision and creative global citizenship.

Let us be the architects of change our world needs.

Warm regards,

Hari Mohan Gupta
